Scrolling can be productive when you have a solid strategy in place. Browse through your Instagram and TikTok feeds to see what is currently trending. Look at platforms such as and Pinterest for content ideas. And please, do not forget to look at your own insights. They're gold.


I don't care whether you're saving them in your phone's Notes app, in a project management tool or in a notebook, but promise me that you will save your content ideas somewhere. At KNC, we have a dedicated Asana board as well as a Slack channel specifically for content ideas and inspiration.


A monthly calendar with the above information allows space for you to see where your strategy might be falling short, how you can diversify your content, where you can plug offers, which holidays you'd like to recognize, and so much more. NOTE: your initial monthly calendar is meant to be your guide, it's not always 100% set in stone so be willing to adapt as concepts and trends change.


Once your calendar is in a solid place to proceed, it's time to put pen to paper. Writing your captions is a crucial element of creating engaging and effective content. It's important to think about your target audience! Make sure you use language and tone that will resonate with them, but also that sound like you.


Don't forget to include a call-to-action (CTA) in your captions. You want to make it easy for your audience to engage with you. Using CTA's to drive your audience to take a specific action can help increase engagement, drive traffic to your website or landing page, and increase conversions and sales.


The algorithm is scanning your account and content for search-engine optimized (SEO) keywords and phrases that are relevant in your industry. Your captions should be SEO-friendly so that your content is more discoverable on the platform. And your hashtags should be too, if you're still using them!


Whether you're creating a static post or a Reel, there is some element of design that can be planned in advance. At KNC, we use Canva for all of our posts/Reel covers and we use CapCut for all of our video editing needs. NOTE: Your designs should be inclusive. Please don't forget to add closed captions.


When everything is said and done, it's best to review your content before it goes live. Yes we're human and yes we make mistakes. Checking your posts allows you to look for simple grammatical or spelling errors and also make sure that your message is clear and easy to understand for your audience.


There are so many ways to schedule your content that it's almost impossible to count. Free options include Meta Business Suite (formerly Creator Studio) and Instagram's native-app scheduler. Paid options include Canva, Iconosquare, Later, etc. Remember this, scheduling can help you stay consistent and consistency helps you to grow.
