WAYS TO REACH A LOCAL AUDIENCE ON INSTAGRAM
If you’re a business owner who wants to target your local community, the answer is really simple. You’ll want to improve your Instagram SEO so that your account and your content is more searchable. Here’s how!
📍 Optimize your name to include your location
Go to ‘Edit Profile’ and click on ‘Name’. Here you can update your account name to include a location. For example, if your business is in a specific neighborhood in Los Angeles, you may want to include the location in your name to improve your searchability on the platform.
📍 Add your location to your profile
Go to ‘Edit Profile’ and scroll down to ‘Public Business Information’. Click on ‘Contact options’ and there you can add your email address, phone number and address, making it easier for people to contact you from the buttons that will appear on your profile.
📍 Geotag your location in individual posts
Adding a location increases your odds of local prospective customers finding your account and your product or service. If you have a physical store, you’ll want to include that as your geotag!
📍 Post with local hashtags
Similar to the geotag, using localized hashtags will allow locals to easily find your account and connect with you and your business. These hashtags like any others should be relevant to the content you’re sharing.
📍 Engage or partner with other local businesses
Consider partnering with another account in a collab post or Live. Cross promoting each other will bring fresh leads to your accounts.
📍 Engage with other accounts who have tagged the same location
You can easily find new customers by engaging with others who have tagged the same location as you. Maybe they have attended other local businesses in the area. This is also just a great way to grow your brand’s community organically!
